Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae met with Prime Minister of New Zealand The Right Hon. Chris Hipkins at Government House this morning. Prime Minister Hipkins arrived in Port Moresby  on Sunday evening  and paid a Courtesy Call on the Governor General this morning.  Grand Chief Sir Bob thanked the New Zealand government for its ongoing support and assistance towards PNG and especially logistical support towards the PNG Defence and people to people cooperation between the two countries.

 Prime Minister Hipkins remarked that PNG and New Zealand share many interests foremost of which is Climate Change, a major concern for island countries in the Pacific.

Prime Minister Hipkins will discuss this issue when he hold bilateral meetings with heads of Government of other Pacific Island countries and will also visit Gordons Market in the nation’s capital. Prime Minister Hipkins will attend the US-Pacific Island  Forum Leaders’ Summit this afternoon before departing Port Moresby this evening.
