Minister for ICT Hon Timothy Masiu and retired General Jerry Singirok during cheque presentation along side DICT Secretary Steven Matainaho and DICT Principal Legal Counsel Oala Moi.

The Minister for Information and Communications Technology Hon Timothy Masiu yesterday presented a cheque for payment of the purchase of copyright to acquire rights to filming of ‘A Matter of Conscience: Operation Rausim Kwik’ by retired General, Jerry Singirok.

Minister Masiu at the presentation said that doing this promotes education, unification, and democracy, maintains cultural heritage, combats misinformation, and guarantees that information is shared in the public interest. He claims that government media institutions may be effective forces for advancement and societal well-being when they are run transparently and with a dedication to journalistic integrity.

ICT Ministry under the leadership of Minister Masiu will work with stakeholders to promote national icons through content on the country’s 50th anniversary.

The program is called the ‘National Icon’ and it will enable stakeholders to work together with agencies to develop digital content.

With that, the state through the Department of ICT signed a Purchase Agreement plus a Option Agreement with retired General Jerry Singirok to develop film and other digital content products from the book.

Minister Masiu presented the cheque to Mr Singirok yesterday for the payment of the film copyright to the book.

Meantime this now push for the development and promotion of digital content focusing on the national icons
