Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and Lady Dadae at Lancaster House to sign the Condolence Book

Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae  is in London, United Kingdom to attend the funeral program of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Governor General and Lady Emeline Dadae arrived in London on Friday 16 September, 2022

On Saturday 17 September,  Grand Chief Sir Bob and Lady Dadae paid their respects at the Lying-in-State of the Queen at Westminster Hall and signed the Condolence Book at Lancaster House.

Both the Governor – General and Lady Dadae  also attended a luncheon on Saturday for all Heads of States with HM King Charles III and The Queen Consort.

 The Prince and Princess of Wales William and Katherine and the Princess Royal Anne were among members of the Royal family at the event.

Today (Sunday 18th September 2022), the Governor General and Lady Dadae will attend a reception in the evening hosted by HM King Charles III and The Queen Consort at Buckingham Palace.

On Monday, the Governor General and Lady Dadae will attend the State Funeral of the Queen at Buckingham Palace followed by the Committal Service at Windsor Castle in the afternoon.

The Governor General and Lady Dadae depart London on Monday evening on the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). They arrive in Sydney on Wednesday and return to Port Moresby thereafter.

Grand Chief Sir Bob has expressed his gratitude to the Australian Government for organising the travel of Heads of States in the Pacific region on the RAAF to attend the Queen’s Funeral program in London.

“I wish to thank the Australian Government for this kind gesture to enable Heads of States in the Pacific to attend the Funeral Service of the Queen in London.

“Thank you for bringing us together as members of the Commonwealth family in the Pacific pay our respects to our Queen and Head of State of our countries,” Grand Chief Sir Bob said.
