Port Moresby, 2 December 2025

Acting Minister for Information and Communications Technology Hon. Peter Tsiamalili Jr. has announced the major successes of the Digital Transformation Summit 2025 (DTS25), held from 24–27 November at the Stanley Hotel.
The summit drew a record attendance of more than 1,300 participants, making it the largest digital policy and innovation gathering ever hosted in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific. “Leaders from government, global technology firms, academia, development partners, youth innovators, and the private sector united to chart PNG’s digital future,” Tsiamalili said.
A central achievement of DTS25 was the launch of the SevisPNG Digital Public Infrastructure Ecosystem, comprising:
- SevisPass – PNG’s Digital ID
- SevisDEx – National Secure Data Exchange Platform
- SevisWallet – Digital Wallet for identity credentials and payments
Backed by NEC Decision No. 183/2025 and the Digital Government Act 2022, these platforms mark a new era of secure digital identity, service access, and economic participation. International publications have already recognised SevisPass as the Pacific’s first decentralised digital public infrastructure ecosystem.
Key partnerships announced included an MoU with the Autonomous Bougainville Government to advance digital governance, and a MiBank–DICT collaboration enabling SevisPass‑powered e‑KYC for financial inclusion. Development partners such as the World Bank, ADB, UNDP, UNFPA, ITU, and the Australian Government also pledged support.
Youth engagement was a highlight, with esports, coding workshops, hackathons, and Inspire Talks showcasing young innovators as architects of PNG’s digital future.
High‑level discussions addressed cyber resilience, connectivity, cloud frameworks, Microsoft 365 rollout, and digital government standards. A dedicated meeting of Digital Transformation Officers reinforced their role in driving adoption across government.
Minister Tsiamalili confirmed that the DTS brand will be institutionalised, with annual summits and reports beginning in 2026 to ensure accountability and sustained progress.
“DTS25 has shown that when our people, institutions, and partners come together, we can build a digital nation that is secure, inclusive, and globally competitive.”
