The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is calling out to Stakeholders for collaboration to build use cases for Sevis Pass (Digital ID).
At the PNG Customs consultative workshop held at APEC Haus, Acting Manager for Innovation and Stakeholder Engagement Mr. Glen Bireo explained the concept of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) as a set of shared digital systems that enable secure and seamless interactions between people, businesses, and government.
He also shared with them the DPI Architecture Principles and the Elements. Mr Bireo further presented the SevisPNG Ecosystem explaining that it is PNG’s national DPI, designed to connect citizens, businesses, and government through secure and interoperable systems, called the SevisDex.
Mr. Bireo added that SevisPass is the government‑recognized digital identity, securely stored in the SevisWallet app on your phone and protected by biometric security. He said It gives citizens’ full control over when and how their identity is shared, while building on foundational IDs such as the NID, passport, or driver’s license by bringing them online as verifiable credentials.
He extended a welcome to all Stakeholders to collaborate with the Department of ICT to come onboard the SevisPNG Ecosystem as it is time to collaborate to eliminate friction, strengthening our borders and drive exponential growth
