Acting Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Hon. Peter L. Tsiamalili Jr., MP, has commended the official launch of KumulSoft’s Fixed Asset Management Platform, describing it as a landmark moment in Papua New Guinea’s national digital transformation journey.
Speaking at the launch in Port Moresby, Minister Tsiamalili congratulated the KumulSoft leadership team, CEO Ms. Rajul Sah, Co-Founder and General Manager Mr. Paul Muinepe, and Co-Founder Hon. Marsh Narawec, MP for developing an innovative home-grown solution that strengthens transparency and accountability across the public sector.
Minister Tsiamalili highlighted that the new digital platform directly supports the Prime Minister’s vision for a transparent and connected government, ensuring that every kina invested in public infrastructure and government assets is visible, traceable, and protected.
“Between 2015 and 2019, over 48 percent of our public institutions had unresolved fixed-asset management issues amounting to more than K3.7 billion. In 2018 alone, the value of unaccounted government assets exceeded the national budget allocation by 60 percent,” said Minister Tsiamalili.
“The KumulSoft platform changes that. It will give us real-time tracking, reporting, and accountability across all government agencies — helping to curb waste and improve planning.”
The Minister reaffirmed that this initiative aligns with the Digital Government Act 2022 and the Digital Transformation Policy, spearheaded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology, connecting seamlessly with the SevisPass Digital ID and SevisDEx interoperability platforms.
“KumulSoft embodies what we want to see in Papua New Guinea’s digital economy — local innovation driving national reform.
It shows that Papua New Guineans can build world-class systems that modernise governance and deliver value to our people,” Minister Tsiamalili stated.
He also acknowledged the Prime Minister, Hon. James Marape, MP, for his leadership in advancing the country’s digital transformation agenda, calling on all departmental heads to adopt KumulSoft’s system as the national standard for public asset management.
