The Department of Information and Communications Technology will host the Digital Transformation Summit 2025 (DTS25) from24th to 27th November at the Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby.
This is the second biggest digital summit in PNG for 2025 and is aimed at helping the country grow its digital services, connect people, and make government services easier to use.
The four-day summit will show people how digital tools like SevisPass, SevisWallet, SevisDex, and other digital government services will make life easier for citizens and improving government services.
Attendees will hear from leaders and experts in ICT about digital government, keeping data safe, using cloud services, applying artificial intelligence in government work, and more on utilizing ICT tools to improve service delivery for citizens and businesses.
Youth and communities will also be involved through gaming and coding competitions, hackathons, and digital skills sessions. Content creators will share their experiences to inspire responsible use of digital platforms. Other sessions will focus on 5G rollout, managing the radio spectrum, and preventing cybercrime.
Acting Minister for Information and Communications Technology Hon. Peter Tsiamalili Jr. stated that this summit is for the department to engage with the people.
“We prefer to listen and engage in dialogue with our students and youth rather than reprimand and distance them from us. At the end of the day, digital transformation is ultimately about people.”
The summit will also highlight innovations from universities, private companies, and government agencies, showing how technology can improve services, business, and everyday life.
The event will conclude with partnership agreements, awards for winners, and a gala dinner to celebrate PNG’s 50 years of independence and the path beyond.
DTS25 is set out to help government workers, young people, and innovators learn, connect, and work together to make Papua New Guinea more connected, inclusive, and ready for the digital future.
